  • Armenian Suite for Two Guitars

Armenian Suite for Two Guitars Prelude Dance Mountain Dance Finale Composed and performed by Garik & Iren Arutyunyan at University of Southern California, Los Angeles, 2010 Armenian Suite for Two Guitars is a composition that has been developing for several years through my years of study. It began as a composition that I wrote for class and started to develop into several movements when my father began to input his creative ideas. The entire suite is meant to capture the wonderful melodies that occur in Armenian folk-lore dances; these melodies are combined with harmonies that are jazz and rock influenced. In between the dance movements are sections that sound free and ambient with improvisatory melodies and accompanying harmonies.
